While the EU is currently working on the Clean Energy Package, often considered the biggest ever regulatory overhaul of the EU energy sector, Poland still is one of the most emission-intensive countries in Europe with its electricity supply based 80% on coal. Why is there so much coal in the energy mix and what can be done about it in the future? Are we able to transform the Polish energy sector to be sustainable? How quickly can we do it and what are the most enabling technologies and regulations?
The AmCham EU Affairs and Energy Committees invite you to a meeting with Ms. Monika Morawiecka, Head of Strategy of PGE (Polish Energy Group). We will discuss if the Clean Energy Package is the next building block of the Energy Union or will it let Member States slip to their national energy priorities. We'll also delve into whether it will help or harm the Polish energy sector and Polish energy policy priorities.
The meeting will take place on Thursday, February 1 at 9:30 a.m. in the AmCham Boardroom, Spektrum Tower, ul. Twarda 18, 16th floor.
