EVENT DETAILS

Yestarday, a meeting of AmCham's Defense & Security Committee was held in the welcoming space of Dentons' Warsaw office. During the meeting opened by Bartłomiej Kordeczka, Poland Co-Managing Partner, Dentons, and led by Mateusz Jurczyk, AmCham Krakow Branch Director, a presentation on the legal aspects of offsets was given by Jarosław Witek, Partner leading the Defense and Security group in Dentons' Warsaw office.

During the presentation, Mr. Witek discussed, among other things, legal principles governing the offset, the structure of offset proceedings, and the composition of the offset offers and the offset agreements. The presentation, followed by a very lively Q&A session, was listened to by more than 50 guests present at the event, and numerous representatives of AmCham member companies gathered online. Questions from the audience included the scale of the practical application of offsets in Poland and the differences between offsets and the so-called “polonization” of equipment. Given the very high interest in the topic of the meeting, it is possible that we will return to it at one of the next Defense & Security Committee meetings.

We would like to thank our speaker, Jarosław Witek, for the fantastic session. If you want to enjoy Mr. Witek’s knowledge on legal aspects of offsets, read the article from our latest AmCham Quarterly.Pl - https://amcham.pl/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Expert-Dentons.pdf

We also want to thank Iga Niewiadomska from Dentons, as well as the co-chairs of the committee – Ronald Farkas, Poland-U.S. Relations, & Tomasz Zakrzewski, RTX – for their cooperation in organizing the meeting. We hope for more such successful meetings after the summer break!
