EVENT DETAILS

A new EU regulation on foreign subsidies (FSR) has recently entered into force. It allows the European Commission to review financial contributions granted to businesses by non-EU countries, including requests for information, interviews, inspections, and property searches.

We invite you to join us at our upcoming seminar entitled New EU Rules on Third Country Subsidies – Impact and Risks for American Firms.

Our speakers will be from Dentons, an AmCham member company; Anna Szymańska, attorney-at-law and Partner, and Michał Bernat, (Ph.D.), certified tax advisor, attorney-at-law and Managing Counsel, who will cover the key aspects of the new regulation, including:

  1. How the European Commission reviews non-EU financial contributions to businesses;
  2. The broad investigative powers granted to the Commission;
  3. Notification requirements for entities receiving significant subsidies;
  4. Financial sanctions for non-compliance: penalties up to 10% of annual turnover, and periodic penalty payments.

The meeting will take place on Tuesday, May 23, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. For better networking and discussion, we encourage you to attend this meeting live in the AmCham office, Spektrum Tower, ul. Twarda 18, 16th floor (live tickets are limited to 20 people, for those registering live, we ask you to click the live ticket). The Webex link will be sent to all online attendants before the event.
