The Circular Economy: New Responsibilities for Business and Consumers in Packaging Management

EVENT DETAILS
The shift to a circular economy is an essential part of the European Union’s strategy to achieve climate neutrality by 2050 and protect our environment. Single-use plastics or the Packaging Directive are milestones of this groundbreaking policy. What does this mean for business and what does it change in the lives of consumers?
The European Union market is today on track to maximize the volume of recyclable packaging and eliminate from circulation those packaging that cannot be recycled. The Polish government has decided to push back the launch of the country’s deposit return system (DRS) for beverage packaging from 1 January to 1 October this year to give the affected companies more time to prepare for the new regulations.
On behalf of the AmCham Sustainability Committee, we invite you to a meeting entitled The Circular Economy: New Responsibilities for Business and Consumers in Packaging Management. We will start the meeting with the presentation by Katarzyna Barańska, Partner, Head of Decarbonization Poland, Osborne & Clarke, outlining the EU regulatory context with possible approaches to defining risks and opportunities, followed by the best practices of 3M, McDonalds, and Pepsi-Cola.
The meeting will take place on Thursday, May 8, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. We encourage you to visit the AmCham office, Spektrum, ul. Twarda 18, 16th floor (live tickets are limited to 20 people, for those registering live, we ask to click the live ticket). The Webex link will be sent to all online attendants one day before the event.
