On November 28, 2023, the AmCham Digital Committee had a meeting with Inez Okulska, PhD, Director of the Innovation and Technology Department of the Ministry of Digital Affairs and the Head of Linguistic Engineering and text Analysis at NASK (National Research Institute implementing solutions for the development of information and communication networks in Poland). We have discussed the complexities of AI and how to maximize its potential, including the context of security challenges and the impact on society and privacy risks. The meeting occurred in a transitional moment when it is hard to predict the future government's concept of some digital programs and strategies. The open question remains how not to over-regulate artificial intelligence, which is already the primary driver of emerging technologies; it will continue to act as a technological innovator, however, the present innovations in artificial intelligence are accelerating so fast that it is challenging to keep up.
