Understanding the ‘Omnibus’ package and the Clean Industrial Deal – meeting with Marcin Korolec, the former Minister of Environment and Government Plenipotentiary for the Climate Policy

Last week, the European Commission published two important documents to boost competitiveness by simplifying EU rules for citizens and EU-operating businesses.
– The ‘Omnibus’ packages are sets of proposals simplifying sustainable finance reporting, sustainability due diligence, EU Taxonomy, carbon border adjustment mechanism, and European investment programs.
– The Clean Industrial Deal aims to turn decarbonization into an EU growth driver by (among others) lowering energy prices and creating quality jobs.
The early analysis of both documents shows a high level of convergence of the changes directions pointed by the Commission and recent AmCham postulates (e.g. Polish energy and climate policy priorities after the Manufacturing Forum 2024)
Later this week, we will invite you to the ‘Omnibus’ package and the Clean Industrial Deal consultations. To help you navigate through both documents and to help identify key areas of change, the AmCham Sustainability Committee and AmCham Industry and Energy Committee invite you to a meeting on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 12:00 – 1:30 p.m. at the AmCham Boardroom and online.
At the start of the meeting, our expert, Mr. Marcin Korolec, President of Green Economy Institute and the former Minister of Environment and Government Plenipotentiary for Climate Policy will outline the changes introduced by the Commission and will share his thoughts on the possible next steps.
In the second part of the meeting, we want to give the floor to the meeting participants and open a discussion, during which we count on learning your points of view.
