Present the AmCham Cultural Series.
The series will feature four key aspects of culture—film, theater, art, and music—highlighting the important role culture plays in society and in our lives. This quarterly program is designed to offer a rich and engaging cultural experience.
Starting with film, we invite you to enjoy the journey to another time and place that cinematography offers. Our feature film, The Zookeeper’s Wife is our top choice for many reasons. This award-winning film is one of the rare movies that make it to Hollywood from Poland. It is a coompelling story about an important part of Warsaw’s history, but it is above all a universal story of humanitarian values and the act of doing the right thing. The movie, released in 2017, maintains its appeal and relevance as viewed from modern-day Warsaw. We will embellish the story about the family running the Warsaw Zoo at the time of World War II with a short discussion with the Żabiński grandson, Dominik Zawadzki-Żabiński.
The movie has been made available to us by the Żabiński Foundation, an NGO with the mission of restoring the Żabiński Villa at the Warsaw Zoo to create a world-class museum to preserve the lesson of humanitarian values as told by the Żabiński story.
The screening will take place on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at the KinoGram (Fabryka Norblina, ul. Żelazna 51/53).
