Coronavirus – key challenges and difficulties for entrepreneurs faced with the epidemic

A state of epidemiological emergency has been introduced across Poland. It is not a state of emergency or marital law. The state of epidemiological emergency is outlined in a 2008 law, which was recently updated by an emergency act outlining special powers and responsibilities for public servants and businesses (“Emergency Act”) passed in preparation for a coronavirus outbreak.

Business waited impatiently for the government’s proposals because every day brought new alarming news about the closure of schools, kindergartens, shops, restaurants, cinemas, etc. …and finally the borders of our country. The AmCham Poland office is closed the week of March 9 until further notice, as a precaution regarding the spread of the coronavirus, however all AmCham Poland staff are on-line and working from home.
