EVENT DETAILS
On Wednesday, the AmCham Sustainability Committee organized a meeting about the Due Diligence Directive (CSDD), which requires organizations that are subject to regulatory obligations to prepare a Transition Plan for Climate Change Mitigation. Our speaker was Michał Wójcik, Sustainability Manager of EY, AmCham member company, and we have discussed challenges and problems that arise during the plan implementation, including calculation of the carbon footprint, determining how the organization will develop in the short and medium term and defining the scope of possible decarbonization levers.
To make sure we will be able to meet this goal, we need to update the plan in the whole process, involve the company management, and remember to cooperate with different departments like supply, planning, sales, and IT, among others. And of course, time is critical – five to seven months is necessary for the plan to succeed.
Thank you to our speaker and Mariusz Wawer, the Co-Chair of the Committee for suggesting the topic and moderating the discussion!
