On May 23, 2024, AmCham took an important next step forward in its mission to align the efforts of American Businesses and Academia.
In collaboration with the City of Rzeszow, we organized the AmCham ‘Education Round Table for Rzeszów’— gathering focused on examining the job market’s developing trends and future directions within the sectors represented by diverse companies.
The event was honored with the presence of Konrad Fijołek, Mayor of Rzeszów; Marzena Drela, AmCham Executive Director; and Mateusz Jurczyk, AmCham Kraków Branch Director, who officially opened the meeting.
The Powiatowy Urząd Pracy w Rzeszowie and Wydział Edukacji Urzędu Miasta Rzeszowa set the tone with enlightening presentations on jobs market local
challenges, complemented by a succinct summary of the AmCham EDU working group’s assumptions and future plans, provided by AmCham Edu Lead - Barbara Stepnowska.
Under the guidance of Barbara Stepnowska, AmCham Gdańsk Director, the discussion gained depth with valuable inputs from representatives of US businesses based in Rzeszów, alongside local universities and schools.
The discussion focused on the competencies needed by the current and future workforce, encouraging participants to share their experiences, the everyday challenges they encounter when interacting with young talents, and to engage in devising strategic solutions that would more closely align educational programs with the requirements of employers.
The round table session went beyond reinforcing the necessity for ongoing communication; it showcased the substantial collaboration between Rzeszów’s businesses, universities, and technical schools—a partnership that underscores the city’s unwavering commitment to driving positive change.
