You are invited to the subsequent meeting devoted to labour and HR aspects hosted by AmCham Wrocław Branch with Michał Chodkowski, heading the labour law practice Partner at Łaszczuk & Partners, as the keynote speaker. Michał specializes in labour and insurance law. Since many years he has been advising local and international companies on individual and collective labour law, in particular on employment optimization, conducting group layoffs, and transfers of workplaces.
During the session on Tuesday, 16 April we will discuss “Legal requirements and market realities of layoffs for reasons not related to employees”.
In particular, following aspects will be addressed during the meeting:
1. Ways employers can terminate employment contracts.
2. Legal regulations relating to layoffs.
3. Group layoffs – legal requirements.
4. How to select employees for dismissal when it is necessary to eliminate some of a larger number of the same or similar positions?
5. Monitored layoffs – additional employer’s obligations.
6. Issues “from the market” and practical issues for employers:
a) Layoffs of dozens of employees in 15 minutes – facts or myths?
b) Are the allegations made in the media of employers depriving employees of access to documents and IT resources are reasonable (and why not)?
c) How can an employer reduce the risk of litigation with an employee?
7. Q&A part.
We look forward to meeting you and sharing thoughts on the layoffs for reasons not related to employees. Please note that Polish will be the language of our discussion. We are happy to welcome two representatives of the company at the meeting. Due to a limited number of places “first come, first served” rule is applied.
Best regards
