Over 60 people attended yesterday’s  AmCham HR Committee’s meeting entitled Employment Law Changes, Legislative Pipeline and HR Trends for 2025.Małgorzata Grzelak and Piotr Zygmunt (in the double roles as the speakers and Co-Chairs of the Committee) talked about the most important changes in Polish law and emerging trends that will impact job seekers, employers, and the general workforce.

According to our speakers, the focus of HR experts will center in the current year on talent shortage, cross-generational communication, climate change, cybersecurity, and HR leaders should remember to use these trends to align their strategies with future business needs.

Besides these general HR trends, there is a big portion of the forthcoming legislation that business needs to watch in the current year.  Regularly implementing/reviewing or updating policies regarding supplementary maternity leave and additional days off; relationships with trade unions and employee representatives, and State Labor Inspection, to name only a few of them,  will be essential to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.

Based on the short survey we conducted among participants at the end of the meeting, we have identified topics that will matter most for them in 2025, and the top three are transparent and predictable compensations, a four-day workweek, and workplace mobbing. We will make sure we include these topics in our plan of activities for the current year so stay tuned for the next meetings of the AmCham HR Committee.
