Offsetting residual emissions poses challenges to companies that want to avoid greenwashing and present coherent decarbonization strategies, taking them to net zero.
On behalf of the AmCham Sustainability Committee, we invite you to a meeting entitled Carbon Offsetting Do’s and Don’ts.
Our speaker will be Ms. Justyna Wysocka-Golec, Partner Associate, ESG, Climate and Nature Department of KPMG. Together, we will discuss the current state of corporate decarbonization policies and tools for offsetting carbon emissions.
The topics discussed will include:
- Climate policy basics – climate science, its influence on the regulatory environment, businesses, and consumers;
- Carbon footprint calculations, decarbonization pathways, and the issue of residual emissions;
- Internal carbon price as a tool for forward-looking corporate climate policies;
- Carbon offsets and Voluntary Carbon Markets – challenges and opportunities.
The meeting (conducted in Polish) will take place on Wednesday, November 22, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and will be chaired by Mr. Mariusz Wawer, Head of Governmental Relations and Sustainability at 3M East Europe and the Chair of the AmCham Sustainability Committee.
