EVENT DETAILS
Since the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February, neighboring countries have seen many refugees fleeing toward safety with millions being displaced in a short time. Many refugees come from various professional backgrounds from blue-collar to white-collar workers who suddenly were forced to leave their homes and jobs due to the ongoing conflict.
On behalf of the AmCham HR Committee, we invite you to join us at our next meeting entitled "Best practices on setting-up refugee hiring programs". Our speakers will be from Upwardly Global, Jina Krause-Vilmar, President & CEO; Jennie Murray, Vice President of Programs; Kimberly Cohen, Director of Employer Engagement; and Wendy Chan, Senior Manager, Strategy and Consulting Services from Accenture Federal Services, who will discuss:
- How to tap into non-traditional Ukrainian talent pools and effective recruitment methodologies in hiring and retaining refugee/newcomers with spotlights of key corporate partnerships and case studies.
- Best practices for setting-up refugee hiring programs (coaching, training, and resources).
- Accenture North America will speak about the value added to the company's work streams and business goals from previous experience.
- Upwardly Global will lay out a potential model for AmCham partners who want to screen and hire refugee talent by engaging AmCham HR committee members to establish Ukrainian newcomer talent pipelines.
