EVENT DETAILS
Since our last Monthly Meeting, the geopolitical landscape has undergone significant transformations, leading to vigorous discussions and analyses. Of particular note, Poland’s recent parliamentary elections captured the attention of a global audience. These elections were among the most closely watched events worldwide, with a multitude of European nations and our transatlantic partners keenly awaiting the outcomes.
However, the Polish elections unfolded amid a tumultuous global geopolitical backdrop. This turbulence was not only a result of the nearly two-year-long, full-scale conflict in Ukraine but also due to the outbreak of the conflict in the Middle East between Israel and Palestine.
The current events, coupled with the emergence of a new government in Poland, will undoubtedly have a profound impact on Poland’s geopolitical position and shape our reality. During our Monthly Meeting, our panel of experts will closely examine the current situation and endeavor to address pressing questions, including: What will be the foreign policy direction of the new Polish government? Can we uphold a robust transatlantic alliance? How will the Israeli conflict affect U.S. involvement in the war in Ukraine? Can we still anticipate strong U.S. engagement in our region?
We are going to focus on these and more issues during our November Monthly Meeting with the panel of experts including:
Michał Baranowski – Managing Director, German Marshall Fund East and Regional Director, Poland
Marek Świerczyński – Chief of Security and International Relations, Polityka Insight
Arleta Zalewska – Journalist, TVN24
Tony Housh – AmCham Chairman (Moderator)
The meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 8th, 8:30-10:00 a.m. (registration between 8:30-9:00 a.m.) at the Warsaw Marriott Hotel (Baltic Room).
