EVENT DETAILS

The AmCham Breakfast in Gdańsk on March 19th, brought together key stakeholders from Westinghouse Electric Company, Bechtel Corporation, public administration, business, and academia to explore the development of Local Content in Poland’s nuclear energy sector.

The event kicked off with speeches from dr Barbara Stepnowska, AmCham Branch Gdańsk Director, Miroslaw Kowalik, President of Westinghouse Poland, and Leszek Hołda, President of Bechtel, setting the stage for a dynamic discussion.

We were also honored by the presence of public officials, including Beata Rutkiewicz, Voivode of the Pomeranian Region, and Mieczysław Struk, Marshal of the Pomeranian Voivodeship, whose support is vital to the growth of this sector. Together, we delved into how Poland can seize this critical moment to empower local companies, integrate them into global supply chains, and equip the workforce through targeted education and training. The discussions also highlighted the importance of strengthening public-private partnerships to build a resilient and future-ready industrial ecosystem.

As AmCham, we remain committed to driving initiatives that support Polish engagement in the nuclear value chain and are eager to collaborate with all stakeholders to ensure that Poland is prepared to embrace the opportunities ahead.
