The year 2025 is proving to be a transformative period, with global shifts redefining the economic and political landscape. Poland’s EU Council Presidency is already driving a bold agenda focused on security in the broadest sense. Meanwhile, the inauguration of U.S. President Donald Trump signals potential shifts in transatlantic relations, trade policies, and global security frameworks. At the same time, the world is facing mounting geopolitical and economic pressures, with the war in Ukraine ongoing, technological competition between the U.S. and China intensifying, and Europe striving to strengthen its strategic position.
At AmCham Poland, we are committed to fostering an attractive investment climate in Poland and ensuring that the country remains one of the most competitive destinations for investors. Our advocacy efforts in 2025 focus on the following areas:
- New Technologies & Digitalization – Strengthening Poland’s technological resilience, promoting transatlantic cooperation in AI, cybersecurity, and data privacy, and advocating for Poland’s role among the U.S.’s closest technology allies.
- Energy Sector – Supporting nuclear energy development, accelerating the green transition, and ensuring regulatory clarity to attract investments.
- Stable & Predictable Legislation – Advocating for transparent, well-consulted regulations that provide businesses with legal certainty.
- Labor Market & Education – Enhancing workforce development, simplifying visa processes for skilled specialists, and promoting digital and vocational education.
- Healthcare – Expanding access to innovative treatments, improving prevention and diagnostics, considering indirect costs in healthcare decisions, accelerating drug availability, and ensuring sustainable funding for rare disease therapies.
- Defense Sector – Facilitating U.S.-Poland defense cooperation, supporting local R&D, and positioning Poland as a regional hub for defense maintenance.
- Investment Development – Reducing administrative barriers, ensuring stable tax policies, and creating incentives for long-term investments.
- Industrial Transformation Program – Supporting an industry transformation program aimed at supporting key industrial sectors which can become new engines for long-term growth of Polish economy attracting additional FDIs and leveraging friendshoring and nearshoring opportunities.
To provide a more in-depth perspective on these priorities, AmCham has developed a draft document outlining our key advocacy priorities for 2025. This is a working document, and we encourage our members to share their feedback, suggest additional areas of focus, and contribute to shaping our advocacy efforts.
On February 25th we organize a working meeting of AmCham’s Government Affairs and Public Policy group to define AmCham’s advocacy activities for the upcoming months, and to discuss member companies’ needs in the area of public policy. For more details, please contact AmCham office.
