What’s new for those employing foreigners in Poland?

On November 30, 2025, the AmCham HR Committee hosted Karolina Schiffter, Managing Partner, and Tomasz Rogala, Attorney-at-law, Poland Immigration Strategy Director from our new member company, Fragomen, to discuss what steps employers should take to comply with the new Polish immigration law.

New Polish regulations effective June 1 this year require employers to be more diligent with reporting, documentation, and compliance, especially regarding termination notices, residence card applications, and contract details. We have discussed these issues with special focus on the employment of Ukrainian citizens and upcoming changes in residence procedures. Digitalization will be a key component of new legislation, which aims to eliminate paper applications, requiring electronic submissions with a qualified electronic signature.  While it will streamline processes, it may present challenges for foreigners who may lack the necessary digital access, skills, or a trusted profile to navigate the online platform and submit applications electronically.

Thank you to our speakers and Małgorzata Grzelak and Luiza Luranc, Co-Chairs of the AmCham HR Committee, for picking up the topic and moderating the discussion.
