On September 18th, 2025, the Americana Committee officially kicked off. Almost 40 AmCham representatives came together at Coca-Cola’s Skyliner building to connect, share ideas, and celebrate American culture in Poland.
The heart of the evening was an engaging panel discussion led by the committee’s founding members – Dorota Dabrowski-Winterscheid, David DeBenedetti, and Nathaniel Espino. They shared the vision of the Americana Committee: bringing American culture to life in Poland beyond business, through cross-cultural exchange, educational programs, sports, and community initiatives.
Participants also had the chance to hear from Andrew Kureth, longtime American expat journalist and offensive coordinator of the Warsaw Sirens women’s American football team. Andrew shared his experiences on the evolution of English-language journalism in Warsaw, the early days of American football in Poland, the rise of women’s football, and the challenges and joys of raising bicultural children.
The evening wrapped up with a networking cocktail reception, giving everyone the chance to connect, exchange ideas, and forge new collaborations.
