The Due Diligence Directive (CSDD) requires organizations that are subject to regulatory obligations to prepare a Transition Plan for Climate Change Mitigation. The Transition Plan must include a presentation of the organization’s directional transformation towards sustainable development, i.e. compliance of its activities with the sustainable development goals and limiting global warming to 1.5°C, in accordance with the Paris Agreement.
On behalf of the AmCham Sustainability Committee, we invite you to a meeting with Michał Sikora, Sustainability Manager of EY, AmCham member company, on Wednesday, November 20 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Proper implementation of the Transformation Plan and inclusion of the decarbonization scenario in the Organization’s Development Strategies requires a variant analysis of the possibility of implementing decarbonization levers. We will discuss challenges and problems that arise during its implementation, including:
- Calculation of the scope 3 carbon footprint, in particular in the case of a complex supply chain, a large number of suppliers and sub-suppliers;
- Determining the trajectory of the organization’s development in the short and medium term;
- Defining the scope of possible decarbonization levers in the short, medium, and long term;
- Progressive climate change and related risks the organization needs to take to implement a climate change adaptation strategy for the identified material risks.
The meeting (in Polish) will be chaired by Mariusz Wawer, Head of Governmental Relations and Sustainability at 3M East Europe and the Chair of the AmCham Sustainability Committee.
