EVENT DETAILS
February 15th, 2024, was just very special for AmCham Poland. We had a unique opportunity to organize a screening of the exceptional Polish movie – Chłopi (The Peasants).
The event was organized at the top cinema in Warsaw – Kino KinoGram at Fabryka Norblina.
The screening coincided with the upcoming promotion of the movie in the USA, so the idea was to show it first to the members of AmCham and the representatives of the U.S. Embassy Warsaw.
Courtesy of our great sponsor - The Coca-Cola Company, our guests could enjoy free drinks, popcorn and nachos while watching the movie. The house was packed with almost 80 participants, most of whom had not seen the film yet, and who left the cinema with many emotions.
The cherry on top was the discussion with the male lead actor – Robert Gulaczyk, wonderfully moderated by Dorota Dabrowski-Winterscheid,AmCham Board Member. Robert shared with the audience much insight about the making of the movie and the story being portrayed, and answered the Q&A from the crowd, e.g. explaining the painting animation technique that was used in the film, that won the hearts of fans around the world, and shared his impressions about playing the male leading role in the film.
Dorota shared the information about the wide distribution of the film, e.g. in theaters across the U.S. and encouraged everyone to reach out to their family and friends in the States to spread a good word about this impressive film production.
The movie screening would not been possible without Sean Bobbitt – the film producer, and we would like to take this opportunity and thank Sean for his commitment to organizing this special screening for AmCham.
Special thanks also go to Hugh Welchman – film producer and screenwriter and his wife Dorota (film director and screenwriter), who recorded very insightful introductory comments regarding the movie, that we could share with the audience.
We would also like to thank our supporting partner Uber – who offered free transportation to the event’s participants.
Last but not least, we would like to thank all our guests that joined us for this special evening. It was so good to could add some culture and art to our daily AmCham business routine – we hope to continue this great trend in the AmCham’s events in the coming future.
