EVENT DETAILS
The EU rules on single-use plastic products aim to prevent and reduce the impact of certain plastic products on the environment. However, it also means that entrepreneurs will be obliged to adapt to a new business environment and cover the costs.
On April 1, the Ministry of Climate and Environment published a draft bill amending the act on the obligations for entrepreneurs to manage particular waste and a product fee, aimed at implementing the provisions of Directive 2019/904 (the so-called Single-Use Plastics Directive). By copying the requirements set out in the directive, this project introduced certain new items like a sales levy on certain single-use plastic products or a fee for producers to replace the products on the market, among others. The changes will impact many sectors, and the act is to enter into force on July 3, 2021.
On behalf of the AmCham Agri, Food and FMCG Committee, we invite you to a meeting entitled EU Single-Use Plastics Directive – Challenges for Business. Our speakers will be Senior Associates from PwC Polska, an AmCham member company, Daniel Maryjosz and and Mr. Łukasz Pamula, where we will discuss:
- The scope of the new fees provided in the draft bill implementing the SUP directive;
- The obligation to appoint an authorized representative in another EU Member State;
- An Extended Producer Responsibility Strategy - (i.e., new obligations for entities introducing products in packaging to Poland).
The meeting will take place on Tuesday, June 15 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
