The Employee Benefits after COVID-19

On October 15, the AmCham HR Committee organized a meeting about the employee benefits market after COVID-19. The speakers of the meeting were Ms. Anna Wicha, Public Affairs Director, Poland, Eastern Europe & Middle East & North Africa, Adecco and Co-Chair of the AmCham HR Committee; Mr. Artur Białkowski, Managing Director Business Services, Member of the Board at Medicover and Mr. Michał Płaczkiewicz, HR Director of Unum Życie. We have discussed how COVID-19 has changed the employee benefits market, what are the lessons learned from the start of the pandemic, and what are the challenges for the future. It was stressed during the meeting that the coronavirus pandemic has put employee benefits in a new spotlight. Today, businesses need to constantly adapt their employee benefits packages for the post-COVID-19 era. A new emphasis is put on insurance products, mental health services, and programs supporting employees' wellbeing. Medical packages are still on the top of employee benefits while gym vouchers or food at work logically have gone down. The optimistic side of things is that 43 percent of companies have declared that they have vacancies to fill and will employ new staff where we can see a bright future ahead even with the current situation where the benefits market will keep evolving.
