Our 4th of July wonderful Picnic took place last Saturday. We were excited to continue the long standing tradition of organizing the Annual American Independence Day Picnic in Warsaw, a great family event that is not only fun but also raises money for worthy charities throughout Poland. Over 1000 AmCham members along with their families and friends joined the U.S. Ambassador Stephen D. Mull, AmCham Chairman Tony Housh and the AmCham Board, as well as representatives of business, politics and culture at the Syrenka Stadium in Warsaw to celebrate not only the U.S. Independence Day, but also 25 years of American Chamber of Commerce in Poland.
The American Chamber of Commerce in Poland has an AmCham Charity project that we fund through direct contributions from member companies (usually around Christmas) and from proceeds from our 4th of July Picnic raffle tickets and entry fees.
We are pleased to inform you that at this year’s Picnic we collected 23,320 PLN! These proceeds will go to the Cardiology Department at Litewska Children’s Hospital (for the purchase of a new oximeter) and to the Ronald McDonald House in Cracow for families and children receiving treatment in the nearby hospital. The official check will be presented at the grand opening of the Ronald McDonald House in October.
The raffle is one of the most popular attractions at our Picnic thanks to our sponsors and partners who provide so many wonderful prizes - 150 prizes this year!
