The American Chamber of Commerce in Poland together with the Polish-German Chamber of Commerce (AHK) had the pleasure of organizing an outdoor discussion about sustainable transportation and its potential contribution to tackling climate change.
EU policies in the area of energy & environment continuously aim at reducing emissions and diversifying the energy mix. There are more and more proposals of regulations to curb emissions from road transportation, aviation or shipping. While emissions from other sectors are generally falling, those from transport have increased by 36% since 1990. But sustainable transportation is not just about air quality; it also touches areas like safety, health, noise or energy security.
AmCham and German Chamber of Commerce members had the opportunity to discuss these topics with our guest of honor - Marcin Korolec, Secretary of State, Ministry of the Environment, Government Plenipotentiary for Climate Change and President for COP19.
Thanks to the partner of the meeting - Mercedes Benz - we were able to meet in the most suitable venue for this kind of weather: Stacja Mercedes (Powiśle, al. 3 maja / ul. Kruczkowskiego).
