AmCham’s September Monthly Meeting featured guest speaker, Paweł Tamborski, the new President of the Management Board of the Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE).
The WSE is the largest national financial instruments exchange in the region of Central and Eastern Europe and one of the fastest-growing exchanges in Europe. It is a symbol of the capital market: one of the biggest achievements of Poland’s economic transformation. The WSE has become an important contributor to raising capital for companies investing in Poland and it has also become an effective tool for the international promotion of the Polish market.
What are the current challenges for the WSE and Paweł Tamborski in his new role? What will be his priorities in the coming years? Will the new President focus on strengthening of the position of the WSE to build regional capital hub? What about cooperation with business? What is the WSE’s role after the economic crisis? How will the WSE cooperate in Europe considering Russian sanctions?
These, as well as other important issues, were covered during the meeting.
