
Three Salans Warsaw lawyers - Agnieszka Wardak, Mateusz Toczyski and Pirouzan Parvine - became partners on January 1.
Agnieszka Wardak
She specializes in litigation and criminal law, including white collar crime crisis management and corporate rules compliance. Agnieszka prepares crisis situation analyses and works on crisis management strategies, as well as internal crisis prevention procedures. She advises on scenarios posing a threat to business continuity and market reputation. She has represented international companies in workplace accident cases, proceedings and charges brought against management by law enforcement agencies. She has also worked on a project related to a parliamentary investigation committee.
Agnieszka Wardak has been a lawyer since 2002. She graduated from Szczecin University (Master of Laws, 1998) and in postgraduate studies on intellectual property at Stockholm University (2005). She has had two scholarships in the USA - Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland (1993) and Columbia University, New York (2002–2003).
Mateusz Toczyski
Mateusz specializes in banking law, project finance and financial restructuring. He has particular expertise in property finance transactions and financing energy projects, representing both financial institutions and borrowers. He has also provided expert advice in legislative works on regulatory changes in Poland, including the new bankruptcy law and the registered pledge act.
He graduated from Gdansk University (Master of Laws, 1995), Oxford University (Diploma in Social Science, 1999) and after receiving a Fulbright scholarship undertook legal and business studies at Yale (1999-2000). Mateusz is currently writing a Ph.D. thesis on legal aspects of integration of the financial markets in the EU and is an author and co-author of several articles and books on this and related subjects.
Pirouzan Parvine
Pirouzan Parvine is an Avocat at the Paris Bar and a registered foreign attorney at the Warsaw Bar. He is a member of the real estate group as well as the CEE French Desk. His experience includes projects and transactional work, ranging from upstream energy projects to M&A in various business sectors, including CEE's largest retail M&A transaction to date. He specialises in foreign investment and transactions in the emerging markets. Since 1998 Pirouzan has worked out of Warsaw, Budapest and Paris and advised clients on projects regarding Western, Central and Eastern Europe as well as the Middle East, North and West Africa. Pirouzan is a graduate of University Paris-I Sorbonne (maîtrise in International Business Law, 1997), a post-graduate of University Paris-X (DESS in International Business Law, mention bien, 1998) and a graduate of Duke Law School, USA (LL.M, 2001) where he was a Fulbright Student.
