Dorota (Dorothy) Dabrowski joined the American Chamber of Commerce in Poland (AmCham) as Executive Director in August 2002. She is responsible for the work of the Chamber as a membership and networking organization, as well as leading the Chamber in its advocacy to improve the business climate in Poland. Under her leadership, AmCham continues to grow and now has 340 members and 18 active committees which are a proven tool for the fulfillment of the AmCham mission and member needs.
Ms. Dabrowski currently serves on the Executive Committee of the European Council of American Chambers of Commerce (ECACC), is a co-founder of the Polish Professional Women Network (PWnet) and has served as a juror for the Złote Spinacze PR awards, the Arts & Business Awards and for Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE). She occasionally appears on business-related TV programs; speaks to groups about the Polish economic-political environment; moderates meetings and panel discussions; with a special appearance at the Keep Smiling Forum in Łódź explaining why Americans smile so much :-)
Prior to joining AmCham, Ms. Dabrowski worked for ten years in business as the branch manager of Cargo Partner freight forwarding, as the financial accountant at Shell (and PriceWaterhouse) and as a Warsaw Business Journalist.
She graduated from Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin in 1992 with degrees in Economics and Slavic Studies. She earned her MBA at the University of Calgary program with the Warsaw School of Economics in 1998. She is a Competent Toastmaster and co-founded the MBA Club in Poland.
Ms. Dabrowski was raised in Texas, but has called Poland home since 1992.
